St. George.

Apparently I am a Train fan this week. This song has been stuck in my head. I love it. Enjoy. And then continue reading.(:

To have faith is to allow your heart to believe in things that can't be seen.

I spent this last weekend in St. George with my boyfriend. I needed to go tour the hair school I hope to attend down there in the next couple of months. He asked if he could drive me down and it just all fit together... In a way.

We left on Friday around six and I didn't say very much the entire car ride down. I had a headache or something that just kept me pretty quiet. That is why I am super grateful that Steven is good at entertaining himself. He sang songs all the way down. We went through a lot of CD's.

When we arrived in St. George... Well really it was Washington Utah, we stopped for dinner at ihop... It was like 10:30pm. But I was starving. After that I went and got all checked into my hotel room. Definitely not a five star hotel. But I survived the weekend.

The next morning I was up and watching the golf channel by four. Steven and I went for a Walmart run early in the morning. Which included buying breakfast... Pop-Tarts. Yum. My tour was at one and it didn't seem very organized... Which if you know me, that drove me nuts! I went for a look around the school and met with the director and learned a lot more about how they run things. The whole thing was a million times shorter than I thought it was going to be.

I texted Steven when I was done. And then went walking along the strip of stores which included DownEast, Jo-Anns, Kohls, and I don't remember what else... But I liked that all the stores were right there by the school. It is in a really well set up spot for me to lose a lot of money shopping.(:

It was over one hundred degrees on Saturday. I was burning up! Steven came and got me and I ran back to the hotel to see if I could find some oils to help me not feel as sick. Then we ran by Jimmy Johns for some lunch and then headed over to his Grandparents house to hang out for a bit.

His grandparents were so nice to me. They were very friendly and open about everything. It was a lot of fun talking with them. Stevens sister is living with them right now and so I got to visit with her for a little bit while Steven was out mowing the lawn. After he finished I borrowed one of his sisters T-Shirts and Steven and I went for a ride on the four wheeler. Which is like my favorite thing in the world. I love four wheeling!

After we were all done, sweaty, and me on the verge of being red as a tomato we ate cake and ice cream with his grandparents and aunt and then went out for dinner at the Pizza Factory with his sister. At this point I was just dead tired! I ate as much as I could but I was just ready for bed. I felt so bad.

Before the night was over I got to cut Stevens hair. That was an adventure! I was lucky to be able to. And he was very patient with me. It was a lot of fun.

I was all ready for bed by 10:30. It was a shocker. I haven't gone to bed that early since last October!

Sunday morning was one of the best mornings ever.
It was really long and frustrating at first. I felt really sick and was just so uncomfortable that I was getting out of bed to just move around every couple of minutes for hours and hours. But then finally I got to mellow out. And ended up being able to rest really well. I showered and rushed to put on my make up before I had to be checked out by 11am.

Steven and I ate breakfast at his grandparents house. My breakfast was pop-tarts and his was pizza. He is a little unique but hey that is good!(:

We visited with his grandpa until his sister and grandma got home from church and soon after that we started heading home.

We got to Cedar and the rain was sooooo bad. Being in a little sports car is super cool and all until the rain is coming down super fast and you are crossing your fingers that you don't hydroplane. We got off at a close exit and just parked for a little bit and took a nap. We were both exhausted.

The conversation on the way home fron St. George was a lot more up beat than the small talk we had on the way down. It was great! We talked about a lot and got a lot out.

Steven and I listened to a lot of random music. But the most played song was probably "A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash.

We stopped in the middle of nowhere to get some dinner at Subway. Only I got Subway, and he got chips. Grr.
Saying goodbye after a fun weekend was pretty sad. But he only lives half an hour away and we tend to hang out all the time so its okay.(:
He was so nice to me the whole time and really watched out for me and was honest. I really enjoyed having him around.
He really has been a great best friend. And I couldn't of asked for a better person to spend the weekend with.

So thank you Steven.(:
I really appreciate the time you took to spend the weekend with me in St. George.

For those of you...

As promised... Almost two months later (I can't believe it has only been two months!) here are some pictures from the pageant for those of you who asked because you weren't there. No hard feelings, I still love ya all.(: But umm... Here you go.
I didn't like any of the pictures of me in my formal. And I wasn't even going to think twice about putting swimsuit pictures up hahah. So it isn't much. But once I get the video of my talent all cropped out I will post it. Thanks for bugging me until I posted pictures everyone.

One Month.

Ready for a cheesy story? Well, here goes nothing.

One month ago I walked into FedEx Office with a big old "DON'T MESS WITH ME" sign, bold as could be, right across my forehead. I was in no mood to talk with anyone. I just wanted to get in, get my job done, and get out.
But... That didn't happen.

As I walked into the store the guy working shouted from behind the counter as he made copies for a different customer "Hey how are you doing?"
Me being in the mood that I was I didn't even think about looking over and acknowledging him. I just gave him a head nod without even turning my head his direction.

I quickly headed over to the picture printing machine I use every single time without fail. I shoved my card in the slot and waited very impatiently. With my eyes fixed on the screen and my right hand holding a neat little card reader/flash drive waiting for the "okay" to put it in the machine, I shifted my weight to one side and anxiously tapped my foot on the ugly carpeted floor.
Before I knew it, the last words I wanted to see showed up on the screen, "CARD REJECTED." Seriously? Like for reals? It is past eight, I just had one heck of a day and you want to top it off by not accepting my card? BRING. IT. ON.
I tried once or twice more but the machine was determined to tick me off. With steam coming off of me I shoved my phone and keys into my pockets, grabbed my card, and walked over to the main desk.

"Do you need help?" He asked.
I thought *Are you freakin' kidding me? Of course I need you to help me. Why else would I be over here?!* But luckily my words came out a little nicer. I smiled and said:
"Yeah. The machine won't take my card. I need some pictures printed from this flash drive."
He said he would be with me in a minute after he helped the other customers.

After getting them sent off he came over and brought my pictures up on his computer. He got really cute about it and I slowly removed the "DON'T MESS WITH ME" sign from my forehead as I explained that these were my pageant pictures and I just needed to get the pictures titled "void" printed. But of course he had to press the "Thumbnail" button and I had to make him scroll all the way down to the bottom really fast (no way in heck I was letting him see the swimsuit pictures that were on there!!) He finally moved my pictures from my flash drive to a store flash drive. Why? I don't know. Because my card was the issue, not the flash drive.

Then we walked over to the machine I started at, and tried to get them printed. It wasn't working with my card and he said that we could try with a store card and that if my card didn't work at the front desk he would just pay for the pictures. He some how managed to ask me where I was from, how old I was, and a couple other questions in the middle of all this. But no worries, I got him to answer the same questions too. He totally had my smiling and laughing in less than five minutes. What a nice guy, so funny, and super nice. He told me that I was the first person to smile at him that night. I felt bad but I was glad that I chose to change my attitude.

After we finally got the pictures printed and started walking over to the main desk to pay for them I started thinking "Oh my heck. There is no way I am leaving here without one of us giving the other our phone number. How am I going to make this happen?!" Panic set in IMMEDIATELY.
My card worked (success!) and my receipt began printing up. After it finished he grabbed a pen and as he said "Well Leah, it was nice meeting you..." he wrote his number down on my receipt.
SCORE!
I am sure I blushed, as I giggled and thanked him for his help and walked out.
My first text to him said "Who would have thought Salem has cute boys?"

We hung out the very next day, and every since then I think I have seen him every day except for maybe a handful of days.

He took me to see Madagascar 3 and Brave (I don't like animated movies.)
The Sunday after we met I met his cute little family.
A week after we met he drove me down to Manti so we could see the Manti Pageant. We were one of the last people there, but the first car out.
We spent our day off at a park that had "beer" in the name, having a cute little picnic without mayo for our sandwiches.
We have watched fireworks together.
Gone on plenty of walks.
Never been on a date that he was on time for.
And spent just as much time laughing together as we have talking together.
He sings to me every time we are in the car.
And surprises me with cute little things.
I can honestly say that I didn't see this coming, but it was perfect timing.
I am so grateful for him, and for the person he makes me.
He became my best friend so fast and I love spending time with him.
This past month has rocked.
From the day we met he has never failed to cheer me up and make my day a thousand times better.
I couldn't be happier.

p.s. proof reading did not happen. Ignore the mistakes.(: I told Emma I would play Monopoly with her and she is staring me down.
And to those of you sending me the daily texts and emails reminding me of how much you miss my blogging, I am sorry. YET AGAIN.(: Be patient. I move out in 14ish weeks. The blogging will happen.

Something annoying.

The other day I was with Emma in the kitchen and she was messing with the cupboards or something. So I gave her that look. You know the one that looks like "are you seriously doing that? Do you not realize how annoying you are being?" And she goes "Ugh I am sorry! I just forget what gets on your nerves." And of course I told her "Only the annoying things."

This week has been interesting. Let me think... On Sunday I spent a lot of time with Family. Then I went over to Kinkos house and watched a movie and got to meet his family.

I worked all week. It was extremely long. On Friday and Saturday I pretty much worked by myself. It was fun, but a bit of a challenge seeing as the fourth of July is coming up so there are a lot more people in town which means the store got pretty busy. And the people got pretty rude. But it was still good.

I spent an evening playing card games with all of my sisters at Genevieves house. That was so much fun. It was nice to see Gabrielle so happy too.

I have been running a bit more with Mara. The 5k is this week! So excited!!

Gabrielle and I went shopping. And it was a bit frustrating because I shouldn't be spending money. But it was fun too!!

Kaytlyn and I ran the route for the 5k last night. Guess who ran the whole thing and only stopped at a red light for five seconds?! Yup, that would be me! So sad that whenever I thought "Oh my gosh. I can't go any further. I just need to walk a little bit." I had to tell myself "I are NOT the girl I used to be. I am NOT the girl I was in high school. I am a finisher. And I will go all the way." Thus, success.

Oh my gosh! I also went to the Manti pageant this week with Kinkos. BEST NIGHT EVER. I was a bit warmer this time, so I stayed awake through the whole thing. It was pretty good. I still don't exactly understand everything. But it was so much fun! Such a great night. And a very very very fun car ride. Definitely a night to remember.

So here are some pictures I thought I would share. And umm yeah. Enjoy I guess?

Above: On Friday UCCU had a pool party at the Scera Pool in Orem. It ended up being a girls outing. With Genevieve, Kaytlyn, Mara, Gabrielle, Emma, myself, and two nieces Mia and Meg. (Mia remembers my name because our names rhyme. Neat huh?) Well Meg and I sat by each other on the way there. As I sat down next to her she said "look! I got myself buckled. I am ready to go." I thought "oh gosh. If we were in an accident how much would that really help you? You could fit two more Megs in there!" Don't worry, I tightened it for her.

This is a picture from... mmm... February? Or like the first week in March. The day Gabrielle Emma and I went to Krispy Kreme to get free doughnuts. We listened to Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." there and back.
P.S. My first time ever going to Krispy Kreme. Fun adventure.

So the day of Graduation I went out to eat dinner with my parents, Mara, and Gabrielle. We went to Golden Corral (I think.) and I was like "Okay, even though the pageant is just a couple week away. I have to have root beer." So I got Root Beer and it was delicious, so I drank it all. When the guy came around asking if I wanted refills I said yes and told him what I had. And he came back with Dr. Pepper. YUCK. So I very kindly asked for a new drink, and he came back with something that didn't taste like Root Beer, or Dr. Pepper. But it tasted more like Dr. Pepper than it did anything else. Ya know? So I had no idea what to do. I don't like not knowing what I am drinking. So on the far left is the mystery drink, in the middle is the root beer, and on the right is the Dr. Pepper.

Here I am in the dressing room with my darling Little Miss Emmy. She was such a trooper to be my little miss for the pageant. I am so glad I could count on her. And I definitely looked up to her. Love the cutie!

So once upon a time in middle school I was on a ... Unique path in my life and I began wearing make up. It was not my parents favorite. Then I got into high school and I kind of slacked off. And just did the real basics.  At the beginning of my Senior year I did more of a natural but cute look. And then I let it all go after my car accident. And thanks to the pageant I am back into make up. So say hello to the make up again. I now take six extra minutes to get ready in the morning.

No need to explain this one. Just KICKS! <3

On Thursday I believe it was I went and picked up my nieces and nephews to spend the day at my house. On the left is baby Alyse, in the middle is Meg, and on the right is my favorite little man, Mr. Milo. Love the boy. They are so fun to have around.

Just a picture from right after the pageant. Make up, hair done, and tired as heck. But I enjoyed the experience.

These shoes were a size five and still too big for me. So bummed out.

So I have done like a million tent sales with DownEast in the past four years and we just did a tent sale in March I think, and we had these jumpsuits that I made everyone try on. Once they go down below $10 I promise to buy one. (They were originally listed at $50) But as for now, I just have to see the picture. hahahahahah. So fun.

Not like the others.

Wow. Nothing says "welcome to my blog" like a huge picture of me.
Just goes to show that I can be in a pageant, wear six inch heels every day for three months, learn how to talk like a barbie doll, and pose for a million extra pictures, and still find days where I don't want to put on anything but chap stick. Welcome to my life.
I can go anywhere without make up. It has just become a choice to wear it. Not a need.
I heard a story a little while back about two ladies learning to get along.
Their husbands were business partners and their children became friends very fast. These two ladies had no idea what to say to each other, so the conversation started with this:
"You don't wear make up. And I don't wear make up!" -Lady #1
"Oh... That is right. Well you know what that means." -Lady #2
"...? No. What?" -Lady #1
"It means that our husbands will recognize us in heaven." -Lady #2

So true. haha.

Well I clearly haven't been around all week.
Um work has been slow but busy. You know? I connected with a lot of old friends this week though. And I can't wait to see them soon!
The fourth of July is coming up so fast, and no one celebrated the fourth of July like Provo. SO STOKED!

I made a new friend this week. At FedEx of all places. I have never really had a positive experience there. But on Monday I definitely had a great experience.

Tuesday night I went out for ice cream. And learned a little bit more about driving stick. That was a good night.

I saw Madagascar 3 on Thursday night I think, and it had its funny moments. What I can't figure out though is how the creepy french spider big butt lady put on so much red lipstick without looking in a mirror, taking off the top layer, and without getting it on her teeth.
Do you see why I don't usually watch cartoons? I just don't see how someone could put on red lipstick without worrying about it getting on their teeth.

I also saw Snow White and the Huntsman just last night. And that was a pretty good movie. Better than what people said. So I am glad I chose to watch it. It was such a perfect night. I love being able to be completely myself.

Yesterday and today were supposed to be my days off this week but I will be taking someones shift tonight /: yay... I always take peoples shifts, or the extra long shifts just because I need to be able to pay for schooling and housing in just a couple months. Things will be changing. So hopefully by the time I move out I will not have to worry very much about money. Woo...

And I totally went to Magelbys Fresh this morning for french toast. YUM. It was nice to have an all girls breakfast. But today was the first time I did not finish my plate of French Toast. That could be good or bad. But it did taste good.

Well I decided this week that I hate the word "Queue."

Well. I am out.(:

First Day!

So... Today was my first day on the job at BATH AND BODY WORKS. surprise...
It was pretty good.
I smell like I just took a bath in a bunch of different lotions.
Oh... Maybe I should start from the beginning of the day.

I couldn't sleep last night. I didn't fall asleep until around maybe twoish?
My Dad was still up when I went to sleep. I feel really bad that he couldn't sleep either.
My sister woke me up at 6:45 asking for a ride to track but Kaytlyn ended up taking her so... I don't remember what I did. Oh wait! I chilled out for a bit then I gave my Mum a ride to work. She is seriously like my best bud. She is a cutie.
I did wash... Showered... Laziness... And then I got ready for my first day!
It was fun. The girls are nice and everyone is really young.
We got to know each other pretty well, the three of us new girls, and they are real sweet.
The one day I did not text my dad or call my mom for a ride was the one day they just showed up.
My dad knew I was off at six, and just found out today that I got the job. So he went and picked up my mom from work and they went to surprise me and pick me up at work. But I wasn't there. ):
I feel so awful. I got off like twenty minutes early and Mara picked me up.
He texted me when I was just about home. I seriously feel so bad.
I kept apologizing on the phone and he just said "okay." not "Oh that is fine!" I feel awful.

I hope this will be a great job for me. It seems easy enough. And everyone is super friendly.
Well, it is monday night and I have nothing to do.

I suppose I will go read or something fun like that.
